Pokémon GO’s Season of Alola is almost over and the next big event of the game is coming up with GO Fest 2022. Before that time comes, you get to relive the past months’ island adventures once again during the Alola to Alola event. In addition, the current GO Battle League season is entering the final stretch. Find out what’s coming up in Pokémon GO in the week from May 23 to 29, 2022, here in the weekly preview.

Spotlight Hour: Seel

Tuesday, May 24, 2022, from 6pm to 7pm local time

The penultimate Spotlight Hour in May 2022 focuses on Seel. The Kanto Pokémon appears in the wild with an increased spawn rate during the specified time frame, making it more likely to be spotted in the Shiny variant. You’ll also receive twice as much stardust as usual for catching pocket monsters, so use your time wisely to farm the important resource even if Seel isn’t exactly your deal.

GO Battle League: Great League, Ultra League, and Master League

Tuesday, May 24, 2022, starting at 1pm. PDT

The final week of the current Interlude Season in GO Battle League brings all three standard formats back into the rotation – a tradition that will continue despite the unusual nature of the current season. There are no tricks or gimmicks here, no special rules limiting the formats. Check out our guides to Great League, Ultra League, and Master League for an overview of the current meta.

Alola to Alola: A Final Ride

Wednesday, May 25, 2022, starting at 10am local time

The Alola to Alola event concludes the current Season of Alola and gives you the opportunity to pay another visit to your favorite island in the region during a Special Research with selectable paths. In addition, all Alolan Legends return to the 5-Star-Raids.

The Melemele Island path focuses on friendship and presents, rewarding you with Lucky Eggs. The Akala Island path concentrates on walking and spinning PokéStops, rewarding you with Incubators. The Ula’ula Island path challenges you to land special throws and catch certain types of Pokémon, giving you Lures and Incense in return. Finally, the Poni Island path puts a focus on battling and raiding, delivering Star Pieces to you.

Raid Hour: Tapu Koko, Tapu Lele, Tapu Bulu, and Tapu Fini

Wednesday, May 25, 2022, from 6pm to 7pm. local time

The quartet of Alola’s Patron Saints will be in Raid Hour together on Wednesday. During this period, the four Legendary Pokémon will appear at all gyms, giving you a chance to fill in any gaps in your Pokédex. GO Battle Day: Mega Stardust Surprise

Sunday, May 29, 2022, from 12am to 11:59 pm local time

As usual, you’ll be allowed to compete in 20 GO Battle League series during GO Battle Day instead of the usual five fight sets, allowing you to complete up to 100 battles in one day. As a bonus, you will receive four times the regular reward of stardust for victories. If you complete at least one duel at any rank during the event, you will receive Gladion’s Pants for your avatar.

Niantic has also announced a “mega surprise” alongside this. Will the recently updated mega evolutions be allowed to participate in the trainer battles for the first time? We’ll have to wait and see.
