System of a Down and Metal: Hellsinger combine

Fans of heavy music – like me – and fans of FPS games – like me – and fans of System of a Down – like me – rejoice. While I’m rejoicing three times, you should watch the below trailer showing off Metal: Hellsinger’s unique track featuring System of a Down’s Serj Tankian as he’s added to the roster of impressive metal singers coming on the rhythm FPS’s soundtrack.

Tankian – who is the guy with the nice beard from SOAD, you remember him from your childhood – joins the likes of Matt Heafy (Trivium), Mikael Stanne (Dark Tranquillity), Björn Strid (Soilwork), Alissa White-Gluz (Arch Enemy), and James Dorton (Black Crown Initiate). That’s a lot of bands I quite like, shockingly, and expect them to have some real bangers in here.

The game itself is a combination of Doom Eternal-style arenas and movement with rhythm gameplay. Shoot demons, get points, get more points on the beat, be rewarded, go again. You play a cool demon lady rampaging through the hells, and the music is a mix of metal styles from screamy shouting to more melodic stuff seen in this trailer.

The game’s due out this year and can be wishlisted on Steam. We’ll have more on Metal: Hellsinger very soon, so be excited.
