Joe Rogan unleashed an expletive-filled rant about a story out of Australia during a recent episode of his podcast before his producer pointed out it was fake news.

Rogan confidently told his guest, Bryan “Hotep Jesus” Sharpe, about the Australian government planning to ban its citizens from growing their own food in an attempt to “smoke out” anti-vaxxers.
“I want to know what their justification was, but I’m pretty sure it had to do with agricultural contamination,” he continued. “You could justify it if you’re a real piece of s***.”
Rogan went on to call Australians “f***ing creeps” and said the government “got a good grip on people during the pandemic.”
He added, sarcastically: “We gonna stop these motherf***ers from growing their own food. That’s how you smoke out an anti-vaxxer, because you can’t go to a grocery story anymore, and you can’t grow your own food.”
As his rant went on, Rogan’s producer, Jamie Vernon, was looking for the facts to back up his boss’ story – but couldn’t find anything.

“I know what to look for, but the closest thing I could find is something like this, but that’s not what you were saying,” Vernon said.
Rogan was determined to prove the story’s authenticity and tried to find it himself.
“That’s gotta be a real thing,” he said. “It seems too good to not be.”
Rogan wasn’t able to find anything and after an awkward silence, he expressed his disappointment. “Dammit! Better not be fake. It might be fake.”
Sharpe, likely quietly sitting in silent mortification, added, “But even if it’s fake, the fake is usually the warning.”
The 54-year-old podcast host has been criticized in the past for repeating COVID-19 misinformation and conspiracy theories, so people online had a field day with his fake news rant.

“Joe, maybe use some of that Spotify money to hire a research team for f***s sake,” wrote one person.
“Since when does Joe Rogan care about facts?” another asked, who added a meme that read, “Joe Rogan doesn’t have a single thing to say that I couldn’t hear from a 14-year-old freshman who just discovered Monster energy drinks and weed.”

Rogan’s fans, however, remained supportive.
“He owned it and took accountability for it. Ever see a politician do that?” one wrote.
