For Star Wars Day, Disney has released a new trailer for its next Star Wars TV show, Obi-Wan Kenboi. The action-packed trailer teases out more of the story involving the Jedi Master, and also provides the first glimpse (and sounds) of Hayden Christensen’s return as Darth Vader.

Set 10 years after the events of Revenge of the Sith, the Obi-Wan show will pick up with Obi-Wan dealing with the effects of losing his friend and Jedi apprentice, Anakin, to the dark side. Obi-Wan is being pursued by Inquisitors–the Empire’s Jedi hunters. And it looks like there will be plenty of action, including lightsaber and blaster battles. Check out the trailer below.

Deborah Chow directed the six-episode limited series, which also features Moses Ingram, Joel Edgerton, Bonnie Piesse, Kumail Nanjiani, Indira Varma, Rupert Friend, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Sung Kang, Simone Kessell, and Benny Safdie. Grant Feely appears as a young Luke Skywalker, and adult Luke actor Mark Hamill has given his approval.

The Obi-Wan show was originally expected to premiere on May 25, but its release date was delayed two days to May 27. The first two episodes will be available on launch day through Disney Plus.

It follows the massively popular The Mandalorian, which is set to return for Season 3 this year. Another show, The Book of Boba Fett, debuted in 2021, while Disney is also producing a Rogue One TV series called Andor.

In potentially related news, a leak has suggested that an Obi-Wan skin is coming to Fortnite.
