5 biggest changes in Apex Legends Season 13: Saviors patch notes

0

Apex Legends Season 13 has finally landed. Titled Saviors, this season brings a new battle pass, loads of new cosmetics, map changes, and new Legend, and of course plenty of balance changes coming to a variety of your favorite weapons.

If you’ve been playing since Season 1 you’ll already know how all this goes. There’s a suite of new content to explore and a bunch of new features for you to play with, and if you want to know what to expect before you jump into battle, you just need to read through our Apex Legends Season 13 patch notes below.

New Legend, Newcastle

The big new addition to any new Apex Legends season is, of course, a brand new Legend, and Newcastle fills that role. We’re already expecting a Newcastle nerf to come soon, because he’s particularly strong.

Newcastle’s Passive Ability is called Retrieve the Wounded, which can slowly drag and move allies into cover as you revive them.

His Tactical Ability is Mobile Shield, which is a drone that can create a moving energy shield.

Finally, his Ultimate Ability is Castle Wall, which allows you to slam into the ground while summoning a large fortified wall, similar to Rampart’s walls, but is erected much faster, has more defense, and lacks Rampart’s power-up field.

Storm Point map update

Storm Point is still fresh in our minds as a new experience, but things are changing already. When you drop in now you may notice the Downed Beast, an enormous beached creature that will prove to be a fresh battleground for you to fight on, around, and inside of. In addition to that, you can explore the map and find four brand new IMC Armories to loot.

Weapon balance changes

For the most part, weapons have been nerfed, even the almighty Kraber, which has had a hit to its headshot multiplayer and overall damage. Rough. LSTAR, Devotion, and Spitfire have all had a similar nerf, with overall damage, capacity, and headshot damage being reduced slightly. The Rampage has had a more minor nerf, with a slight increase to reload speed time.

It’s not all bad news though. The start of the Havoc‘s spray should be easier to handle now, and shotguns like the Mozambique and Peacekeeper now do slightly more limb damage. The Mastiff has had a big buff too, but that’s down to it now being a crate weapon.

Arena players will also see sweeping pricing adjustments for all weapons.

Legend balance changes

The biggest change made to Legends is that Fortified Legends no longer have reduced headshot damage, so aim straight for the head when up against Gibraltar and Caustic.

Rampart has a nice little buff. Sheila now spins up much faster, with her walls receiving increased health and a shorter time to deploy too, making her more viable overall in situations where time is of the essence.

Valkyrie, meanwhile, has a minor “nerf,” that she can no longer freely spin while launching Skyward Dive. Shame.

Ranked mode overhaul

Ranked mode is now an entirely different beast, for truly competitive players. If you love to level up your rank over the course of the season, then this information is going to be incredibly valuable for you. Timers for assists are extended, and you’re now better rewarded for actual team play, including distracting opponents, accuracy, and more.
