The addition of a third weapon was a welcome surprise for players in God Of War Ragnarok. This weapon added a new skill tree, new attacks, and new combo possibilities, further building off the combat system established by the 2018 game.
Players get their hands on the Draupnir Spear after completing half of the Ragnarok’s journey; however, there are still many runic attacks and attachment options for the weapon. These attachments can make an already incredible weapon work even better in Kratos’ new war.
10/10 Soldiers Sauroter
Like most starting attachments in the game, the Soldiers Sauroter is decent but not the best option. This attachment offers a slight bonus to defense, but by the time you get the Spear, the bonus is very minimal in comparison to other bonuses.
This attachment can’t be upgraded, so a replacement should be looked for relatively quickly. This attachment also does not include a special perk.
9/10 Warriors Echo Sauroter
This weapon perfectly pairs up with your ally’s sonic arrows and is one of the few attachments that utilize them for a bonus. Using this handle further brings your companion into combat and allows you to build up the initial impact without having to fight yourself.
This weapon offers a bonus to strength, runic, and defense. These bonuses can be upgraded to increase the overall attack damage, making it an ideal attachment for diehard spear users.
8/10 Battle-Scarred Sauroter
This handle offers a fair boost to both defense and vitality. It is another great option for a tanky build that requires a higher vitality and to branch out its stats beyond defense. This attachment is a great choice for those who want to maximize the stun on enemies.
While this is equipped, stun grab attacks offer rage. Getting more rage is always beneficial, especially with the new options available beyond Kratos’ usual Spartan Rage. This attachment does fall off for those who don’t always stun their enemies or take advantage of stun-grab attacks.
7/10 Charging Assault Sauroter
This attachment offers a surprisingly decent bonus to defense, and is an ideal choice for a defensive oriented build. Its bonuses to luck and vitality are below average but are made up for in its defense.
This attachment’s special ability builds off your sprint attacks for the spear. With this attachment, bonus stun is applied and has a moderate chance to provide an Unstoppable Aura. While these bonuses are great, working in constant sprint attacks in a crowded fight can often be difficult.
6/10 Lion’s Roar Sauroter
The Lion’s Roar Sauroter only gives a bonus in your defense stat. While it is limited to just one stat, the bonus is the highest single-stat bonus of any Draupnir Spear attachment, making it a necessity for any defensive-focused build.
The spear does great damage for its quicker heavy attacks, and this attachment only makes Gale Force even stronger. With the added defense, this attachment is perfect for those wanting to tank hits to get their own attacks out.
5/10 Mighty Olympian Sauroter
Throwing spears that can be detonated and hurt affected enemies twice is one of the best perks of having the Draupnir Spear. While these ranged attacks don’t deal the most damage, they can be spammed to deal increasing damage and hinder your enemies greatly.
This handle’s special skill allows for a moderate luck chance to increase strength and stagger resistance upon detonating spears. The attachment also offers a moderate bonus to strength, cooldown, and luck, to build on its special skill.
4/10 Hind Of The Nine Realms
The Hind of the Nine Realms isn’t as straightforward to get but is well worth the effort. This attachment is another way to activate Realm Shift, an incredibly useful ability. The realm shift is activated along with the violent maelstrom, making for a perfect combo of abilities.
There are other ways to activate Realm Shifts, but this attachment can free you up to add a different relic to this combo. While the realm shift can be short, the violent maelstrom can lead to incredible damage to a vulnerable enemy. This attachment also offers a bonus to runic, vitality, and cooldown.
3/10 Hind Of Attuned Elements
Causing status effects on enemies is one of the central goals of many attachments and runic attacks of the Leviathan Axe and Blades of Chaos. After igniting or freezing an enemy, attacks with this attachment do more damage to affected enemies.
This attachment also offers a boost to both defense and runic, and is perfect for a more reactive play style. This attachment is perfect for players who enjoy switching between weapons mid-combo to deal the most damage after causing a status effect on an enemy.
2/10 Hind Of Deadly Vitality
Recovering health can be easy when dominating a battle, which oftentimes leads to uncrushed crystals. In battle, random enemies can drop these crystals, but enemies killed with stun attacks have a higher chance of dropping these items. However, if you struggle to get the takedown kills that generate crystals, this Hind is perfect for you.
Almost every kill with the spear lets you regain some health. While it is only a chance, the attachment gives you more ways to obtain health mid-fight. This Hind also offers a bonus to defense, cooldown, and luck.
1/10 Hind of Weightless Recovery
Runic attacks are the centerpiece of your damage capability, and their cool downs are a huge hindrance. While maxing out your cooldown stat is beneficial, the best way to get your runic attacks back instantly is through the Blessing of Cooldown.
With this attachment, filling your maelstrom gauge offers a moderate chance to get the blessing of cooldown. This can help keep combat fast-paced by cycling in more runic attacks after a short chain of basic attacks. To best utilize this attachment, you must dominate and stun your enemies or be good at dodging or parrying.
