10 Best Completed Items, Ranked

0

Your team composition, Traits, and Augments can all widely change the flow of your game. Completing items for your Champions, however, can have the largest effect on your win/loss rates. The amount of damage that items can do (or mitigate) is the most impactful element of Teamfight Tactics.

TFT is the quintessential “one more game” game. The major draw that always makes you want to try again is the feeling of getting so close to completing your strategy. To get the most out of each game, try using the items on this list in combination with creating as much synergy in your lineup as possible.

10/10 Dragon’s Claw

When building items for your team, don’t neglect your frontline Champions, who can soak up the majority of incoming damage. One of the best tanky items for frontliners is the Dragon’s Claw. Made by combining two Negatron Cloaks, this item grants 60 Magic Resist and regenerates 5% maximum Health every two seconds for the holder.

A Dragon’s Claw can help keep your tank stay alive by both reducing damage and generating health. This is a powerful combination that is only seen on one other item (Redemption). For most frontline tanks, the Dragon’s Claw is a powerful choice that can always be a good choice to build.

9/10 Jeweled Gauntlet

Teamfight Tactics Jeweled Gauntlet

For Champions that do the majority of their damage through Abilities, the Jeweled Gauntlet is an optimal item. By equipping a Needlessly Large Rod and Sparring Gloves, Champions can gain 25 Ability Power, 35% Critical Strike Chance, and the added functionality that Abilities can critically strike.

When launching an Ability, Champions unleash a powerful spell that can cause a massive amount of damage. However, Champions need an item like Jeweled Gauntlet to make those Abilities strike critically. When an Ability-centered Champion gets their hands on a Jeweled Gauntlet, their power spike can be immense.

8/10 Bramble Vest

Teamfight Tactics Bramble Vest

The Bramble Vest (two Chain Vests) is powerful because it turns a tank into a damage dealer. By adding 70 armor and negating 75% bonus damage from incoming critical strikes, it’s already a strong frontline companion. The gravy on top is how the Bramble Vest also deals magic damage to all nearby enemies whenever the holder is hit by an attack (on a 2.5 seconds cooldown).

This combination of absorbing damage and dealing it back is very powerful when placed on a Champion that has staying power. When a Champion is able to sit in the frontline and just take damage, it buys time for the damage dealers. Even if a tank isn’t returning many attacks of its own, if it can stay alive, they’ve done the job.

7/10 Guinsoo’s Rageblade

Teamfight Tactics Guinsoo's Rageblade

When building your team in TFT, you generally want to stack your items on a few Champions rather than spread them all out. This is because items can synergize together, making them more valuable when used in conjunction with one another. Guinsoo’s Rageblade is the perfect example of this.

Guinsoo’s Rageblade adds +10 Ability Damage and 10% base Attack Speed with an extra 5% Attack Speed on hit (stacking). This is a huge boon to Champions that mostly deal with Attack Damage as it exponentially increases the number of swings a Champion can deal.

6/10 Spear Of Shojin

Teamfight Tactics Spear of Shojin

Spear of Shojin adds Attack Damage, Mana, and Ability Power, but the real power is in its ability to restore Mana. For Champions that rely on Abilities to do damage, Spear of Shojin can increase the number of Abilities that a Champion can unleash per round by refilling their Mana.

Champions that use Attack Damage as their primary source of damage can be the most reliable option for sustained damage. An Ability casting mage, however, has some downtime followed by huge chunks of damage. Spear of Shojin reduces these Champions’ downtime between casting their Abilities, vastly increasing their overall damage.

5/10 Zz’Rot Portal

Teamfight Tactics Zz'Rot Portal

The highest-ranked tank item on this list is the incredibly powerful Zz’Rot Portal. Built with a Recurve Bow and Giant’s Belt, this item grants Attack Speed and Health. In addition, Zz’Rot Portal provides the holder with a Taunt used at the start of combat, as well as a 2nd Taunt upon their death. When the holder of a Zz’Rot Portal falls, a Void Spawn appears to continue tanking for your team.

The most important function of a tank Champion is to hold the line. It’s their job to tank incoming damage and stay alive as long as possible. It’s not important for tank Champions to deal a lot of damage, but it is vital that they soak as much incoming damage as possible.

4/10 Blue Buff

Teamfight Tactics Blue Buff

Generating Mana is the most important metric for Ability Damage Champions, even more so than Ability Power. If a Champion can cast their ability more times per round, their overall damage will skyrocket. The Blue Buff (two Tears of the Goddess) is the best way to gain Mana and increase a Champion’s ability casts.

Not only does the Blue Buff add bonus starting Mana and Ability Power, but it also adds two powerful features. Blue Buff reduces a Champions Ability Mana cost by 10 and grants 10 Mana when the holder gets a takedown within 3 seconds of casting.

3/10 Giant Slayer

Teamfight Tactics Giant Slayer

In order to take down an enemy frontline, your damage dealers need to melt the opposing tanks. The Giant Slayer is the ultimate tank melter, perfect for Attack Damage Champions, and still incredibly strong on mages. The Giant Slayer adds Attack Damage, Attack Speed, and Ability Damage.

While the base stats provided by Giant’s Slayer are strong, the primary use for this item is to destroy your opponents’ high Health Champions. When striking a Champion with more than 1600 maximum Health, Giant Slayer holders deal 30% more damage from Abilities and attacks.

2/10 All Emblems

Teamfight Tactics LaserCorps Emblem

Champion Traits are incredibly powerful, granting stat buffs and abilities to all who share the Trait. These gains are also exponential — having high numbers of Champions with a given Trait will increase the stat gains with increasing power. Because of these benefits, Trait Emblems are some of the most powerful items in the game.

In many situations, giving the proper Emblem to a Champion is going to be more powerful than any other item they could hold. Whenever you can, look for opportunities to snag a Spatula or completed Emblem that could enhance your team.

1/10 Tactician’s Crown

Teamfight Tactics Tactician's Crown

The only thing more valuable than an Emblem is the Tactician’s Crown. While the correct Emblem can be the perfect item for a specific Champion, having an additional Champion spot is more versatile. Especially in the early game, having an extra Champion on the battlefield can be a huge advantage over your opponents.

Not only do Champions add 2 or 3 Traits, but they also provide another body on the board to tank and deal damage. In most games, you will be juggling your board and bench to get the best team composition you can field. The biggest advantage in many games would be to have the +1 maximum team size provided by the double-Spatula.
