In Grounded, you shrink down to a size of an insect and survive through the harsh wilderness of your backyard. Going head-to-head with the insects and other creatures that inhabit this area is a tall ask for an ant-sized human. Fortunately, Armor will make this task a little easier to manage, but not all sets are created equal.

Each Armor set has a base kit set up to give them unique abilities. However, they can be upgraded in the smithing station to enhance their capabilities. They also have the option of taking on a unique characteristic. This happens when one chooses the Sleek path during the upgrading process.

10 Spider Armor

Good armor comes from tough enemies, and that’s true for this set. Made from defeating spiders like Orb Weavers and Wolf Spiders, this medium armor set shows off your weird vibes. Tier 2 in rank and medium in grade leaves this set with a 20% resistance buff and a 15% drain on stamina.

Sleeking this set will give it Poison Damage that can increase player-dealt poison attacks all the way up to 100% when fully equipped. Pieced out, Stamina Regen Delay takes effect by lowering exhaustion when a character runs out of stamina. This pairs nicely with the set bonus Hunter’s Prowess, which increases stamina regeneration rates.

9 Bee Armor

This armor set is not made for camouflaging, but it is made for something else – the single-piece ability to increase bow stuns. The complete look gives Pollen Shot, which provides a chance to slow targets when an arrow releases a pollen cloud on impact. Upgrading in the Sleek method will result in another form of a standard slow-down shot against opponents.

Defense comes in at 13.5 points with 10% resistance and only 5% stamina usage. It is a tier 2 light armor set that was designed with an archer in mind. If ranged combat is how you play, this bright set is the one for you.

8 Ladybug Armor

Heavy duty is back on the menu with the Ladybug Armor Set. This 13.5 defense set comes in with a tier 2 rating. Having 30% damage reduction and 15% extra stamina loss are its base qualities, but it also has features reminiscent of jousting armor.

The unique set bonus here is called Scarlet Embrace. It gives a chance to gain health regeneration temporarily when successfully blocking an attack. Sleeked out, there is a Health Received effect that increases healing options numbers overall. Pieces give a blocking strength, allowing players to take more blocked damage before being stunned.

7 Roly Poly Armor

Hoping to find something a little more Roman in style? If yes, this is the set for you. A tier 3 heavy armor that has 30% resistance, 25% stamina drain, and clocks in with a defense rating of 15 – Not at all bad for a tiny Roman warrior.

Blocking is the name of the game with its abilities. Pieces have an increased block stun, which increases the opponent’s stun meter when blocking an attack. Sleeking this set will give you blocking strength, allowing you to block for longer before getting stunned. The set bonus may be a drawback to some as Invincible Shielding is an aggro-inducing mechanic. Players wearing this set will see more enemies attacking them than others.

6 Antlion Armor

Heading out on a dusty trail? Grab this medium armor set ranked at tier 3. Its piece effect is Sizzle Protection, which, as the name suggests, guards against the sizzle effect. Fully kitted out gives the Quickdraw ability, increasing reloaded speed in combat with bows and crossbows. Also, Sleek forms lower the thirst drain.

15 points of protection bring this set into a solid area of defense. As a medium type, it has a 15% stamina drain increase and a 20% damage resistance. Look like an insect cowboy, and keep your squishy bits safe.

5 Fire Ant Armor

The Fire Ant Armor set is a typical medium armor that provides a balance of protection and stamina drain with all 3 pieces equipped. As with all medium sets, it gains an extra 20% damage reduction and a 15% stamina usage. Being a Tier 3 set, it’s no surprise it also carries a 15-point defense at the beginning.

Individual pieces grants Corrosion – a chance to weaken enemy defense. The set bonus is called Acidic Splash, which gives a chance for more melee attacks to splash acid damage. Should the player choose the Sleek path when upgrading, there will be an increase when dealing with acid damage attacks.

4 Moth Armor

Flapping its way onto the scene is the Moth Armor Set. Lightweight with the normal 5% stamina reduction and the 10% damage debuff. This set won’t weigh you down to earth anytime soon while guaranteeing 15 points in defense out of the gate. Getting the materials means squaring off against a hard-to-reach enemy, but the result leaves you looking ready to take flight.

It is another set geared towards those that use ranged attacks, and its piece bonus is Ranged Attack: Bleed. This buff will give ranged attacks a chance to apply bleed. The ranged increases don’t end there because the sleek path gives Ranged Attack: Stamina Refund. Attacks that hit have a chance of instantly restoring some stamina.

3 Widow Armor

Heading back to the webbed world is this next armor. Made from a formidable boss’ hide, the Widow Armor Set is a lightweight set that has a minimalist “I killed the Queen Spider” look. It’s not something that can be gained or worn by the faint of heart.

Average light armor stats apply here in a 5% stamina consumption and 10% resistance to impacts. Defense points start at 15. The strength lies in the set bonus – Death’s Impact. When killing an enemy, your movement speed will temporarily increase. Sleeking out this arachnid armor will grant the wearer Parry Poison, which gives perfect blocks the chance to apply poison to the attacker. Rounding out the poison setup with the individual piece stat buffs Poison Damage.

2 Blossom Assassin Armor

Here is a light armor set that requires facing off against a heavy enemy – The Mantis Boss. It will give you a nice-looking set that makes you look like a deadly enemy. Not a trade-off for picking a fight with something that wants to chew your head off. It is also the critical hit champion of armor.

Climbing into the ring, it comes with 15 base defenses. It also has 10% resistance and 5% stamina hit like all other light sets. The set bonus Crit Chain is nicely paired with any crit-hitting weapon. You will have an increased chance of a critical hit after landing a crit hit. The sleek path will take the critical even higher with Crit Stun, which will apply more stun damage when landed.

1 Black Ox Armor

Time to charge your attacks with this set. Single pieces benefit from the Charge Attack Weaken effect. During use, they give charged attacks a higher chance to reduce the damage an enemy deals. A full set will unlock a Stunning Charger, in which melee charge attacks will pack more of a punch in the stun ability. Quicker Charge Time is what the set is tuned into when a survivor chooses to sleek it out.

A horned Tier 3 medium-grade armor, the Black Ox Armor is ready to defend with a ground level of 15 points. Keeping in line with the 20% protection and 15% drain, the only waves that will be seen around here are those of the jewels decked out on the pieces.
