10 Wilderness Ops Helmet

This first piece of armor is a part of the Peril On Gorgon DLC. The Wilderness Ops Helmet is a stealthier version of the advanced defensive heavy helmet given to soldiers of the Auntie Cleo corporation. This is because it offers a +5 boost to all the skills in the stealth category. This includes Sneak, Hack, and Lockpick skills. It also gives you 84 damage resistance towards all types of damage.

The downside to this piece of armor, however, is that it has half the durability of the normal version of the heavy helmet, 5,000 durability instead of 10,000. The Wilderness Ops Helmet can be found in a locker in the Trash Dump in Gorgon Canyon.

9 SugarOps Helmet

Here is another helmet that is also good, but for different reasons. The SugarOps Helmet is another version of the advanced defensive heavy helmet. This one is worn by the soldiers that work for Rizzo’s sugary drink company. This is actually one of the better helmets in the game due to its +10% bonus to N-Ray damage as well as a +5% bonus to Plasma damage.

These damage types are pretty niche, so that is why this helmet is still pretty low on the list. The SugarOps Helmet also has 36 damage resistance for all types and can be found in a locked safe in the Cascadia Bottling Plant.

8 Iconoclast Apostle Helmet

This helmet is perfect for those that terrorize the Outer Worlds using nothing but melee weapons. The Iconoclast Apostle Helmet is a unique variant of the full cranial helmet. This is the only helmet in the game to add a melee damage boost with a flat +5%. This is also a great choice for any melee-based companion to use as well.

You also get 29 resistance to all damage forms while wearing this helmet, and that’s nothing to scoff at. The Iconoclast Apostle Helmet can only be acquired by completing the quest, The Commuter, from Graham Bryant in Amber Heights.

7 Cat’s Eye Pressure Helm

This is the peak helmet if you’re running an aggressive stealth build character. The Cat’s Eye Pressure Helm is a unique variant of the low-pressure helm. The helmet gives the amazing bonus of +25% stealth attack damage and a +5 increase in the Hack skill.

The stealth attack bonus is great because you should almost always be able to stealth kill in one hit! This armor piece is also a part of the Peril On Gorgon DLC and can only be purchased from Lex in the Sprat Shack in Gorgon Canyon.

6 MSI Elite Helmet

Here is yet another variant of the advanced defensive heavy helmet. The MSI Elite Helmet is decent at protecting you with its 29 damage resistance for all types, but its unique bonus is what makes it so high on this list. This armor piece has -a 10% decrease in ranged weapon spread.

This is great for those who use Shotguns and Heavy Machine Guns, as it will increase their effective ranges. The MSI Elite Helm is rewarded to you for completing the quest BOLT With His Name, given by MSI’s leader, Sanjar Nandi.

5 Wilderness Ops Armor

You can also add the Nightingale Step mod to this armor to reduce your footstep volume as well as the radius of sound it makes. This armor is also a part of the Peril On Gorgon DLC and can only be acquired by completing The Electric Fling side quest and delivering all the phonographs to NVTUR.

You can also add the Thug Kit mod to further increase Melee skills by another five points, as well as +10 points to skills in the Defense category. The Iconoclast Apostle Armor can only be acquired by completing the Pay for the Printer faction quest.

This is by far the best armor in the Outer Worlds. The Nightfall Squad armor has 54 damage resistance in all categories, as well as the unique bonus of -50% equip time for all weapons, including those in the heavy category. The armor set also has the added bonus of +5 to all skills in the Stealth category.

It also looks great with its pure matte black appearance. This armor is kind of difficult to obtain, however, as it requires you to have a 100% reputation with The Board to be able to be purchased from Percival.
