Black Clover, like many Shonen anime, follows a fairly head-strong and independent male protagonist who is striving to grow stronger. The best Shonen anime are usually action-packed from the beginning to the end and rely on heavy fight scenes throughout their plot arcs.

The anime series below are a perfect example of shows similar to Black Clover on an action-level scale. Like Asta, the main characters in these shows spark adrenaline and inspiration into viewers’ hearts.

10 Akame Ga Kill!

Akame Ga Kill! sits at last place on this list because the anime itself has a pretty basic storyline. However, this is not to say that the anime is boring in the slightest. Akame Ga Kill! is a fantastic example of a Shonen anime. The story follows a group of assassins and a young protagonist whose goal is to liberate the world they live in.

This action-packed anime is filled to the brim with fight scenes and is an easy show to get through for people who are in desperate need of something to watch.

9 The Seven Deadly Sins

7 Deadly Sins Characters

The Seven Deadly Sins is an anime with both an emotional and action-filled plot line. After the Holy War, this show records the travels of a group of young protagonists whose goal is to help a princess reclaim her kingdom.

Through their travels, they set off to find the seven deadly sins, which will help them reclaim the kingdom. This anime is longer than Akame Ga Kill! and has a more dynamic plot line. However, the story does not compare to the competitors below.

8 My Hero Academia

My Hero Academia, Deku, Bakugo, and Todoroki

For those who love comic books and superheroes, the anime My Hero Academia has a lot of superpowers to offer. This anime provides a dynamic plot line and takes time for the initial storyline to build. Although the show does not quite dive into the main plot immediately, the amount of unique characters, and the sheer amount training they go through, is enough to entertain its viewers.

Midoriya, the protagonist of the story, receives a superpower, or quirk, that is supposed to be the strongest of them all. Because this show takes a little while to build up to the main event of the story, its position is number eight on the list.

7 Soul Eater

Soul Eater, Black Star, and Maka Albarn

Soul Eater takes place in a school with a group of students competing to create the ultimate weapon: a weapon that Lord Death himself can wield. Soul Eater Evans, one of the protagonists of the show, wishes to become this weapon. Through his training, however, enemies much larger than himself begin to reveal themselves.

This show features well-animated fight scenes and great lessons in friendship. Though because the plot line of the show itself is lacking in some aspects and is not quite as deep as the others below, it sits at seventh.

6 Demon Slayer

Tanjiro, Nezuko, Zenitsu, and Inosuke, from Demon Slayer

Demon Slayer is a unique anime that has been given copious amounts of praise for how well the show is animated. The anime itself is both dynamic and eventful, with numerous fighting arcs and emotional scenes that leave the audience wanting more.

Following a young man in many battles against demons, this anime is about him seeking revenge on his family who was slain while he was away. Because the storyline of this anime falls short of the pace and dynamic backstories of the ones below, Demon Slayer sits at a rank right above fifth.

5 Jujutsu Kaisen

Itadori Yuji, Jujutsu Kaisen

This anime sits in the middle of the list because of its well-rounded animation, characters, storyline, and fight scenes. Each character within Jujutsu Kaisen has a special skill and personality, much like the characters in Black Clover.

Yuji Itadori is this anime’s protagonist and is required to undergo training lessons and various missions in order to make himself stronger. This is because the young man is a vessel of a powerful curse and is the only thing able to keep it subdued. This is of course unless the curse becomes more powerful than its vessel.

4 Hunter X Hunter

Killua and Gon

Hunter X Hunter sits in fourth place on the list because of the number of unique characters provided. The show is about two young boys striving to pass the hunter exam. Gon and Killua each have a personality of their own and throughout the series, they continue to complement each other.

The two of them fight against enemies and friends to better understand each other and themselves. With both action-packed scenes and a traditional take on animation, Hunter X Hunter is an entertaining show to watch.

3 Bleach

Ichigo from Bleach

Bleach is an anime that follows a man named Ichigo through many battles of his time as a Soul Reaper. The job of Soul Reapers is to help guide spirits into the afterlife. However, this show dives much deeper into this process and sends viewers on a whirlwind of adventures and battles.

While this anime was one of the biggest anime franchises of all time, the show falls short of the third place because of the number of filler episodes added.

2 Naruto

Naruto, Sasuke, Sakura, and Kakashi from Naruto

Naruto Izumaki is a young boy with a heart of gold. Though, he harvests more than this inside him. The Nine-Tailed Fox, a powerful creature from the past, gives him outstanding power that he can only wield when he is strong enough to do so.

This series follows Naruto and his friends as they train to get stronger and perfect their unique abilities to meet one goal: to become the Hokage, the leader of their village. Naruto is a great series to binge and sits in the second spot on the list because the first place’s plot line is much more emotional and inspiring than its counterparts.

1 One Piece

Luffy, Zoro, Nami, Sanji, One Piece

Action, comedy, and adrenaline are all combined within the top contender of this list. One Piece is about a young pirate on the path to find the greatest treasure in the world: the One Piece. Through Luffy’s journey, the main character of the show aims to be the king of the pirates, something only the strongest person alive is capable of.

However, the adventure awaiting him isn’t so straightforward. Through the sheer amount of backstory, emotion, and value of every character in the series, this anime provides an endless amount of entertainment for its viewers.
