Anyone who has seen the Hunter x Hunter anime will know that Killua Zoldyck is not someone to be messed with. He’s an incredibly intelligent and highly-trained character who was raised in a family of famous assassins. Killua wields some impressive powers, with several of his moves centered around controlling and delivering electricity onto foes. Not only is Killua a quick thinker in the midst of any fight, but his actual physical speed is also hard to be matched.
There are certainly cases to be made in Killua’s favor for winning several fights, even when theoretically matched up against opponents from other shows. Killua is an anime character loved by countless fans for good reason, but there are some other anime out there with characters who would demolish the young Hunter in a fight.
There are necessary spoilers for the anime mentioned below in order to explain how they would defeat Killua in battle.
10 Naruto Uzumaki (Naruto)
Naruto Uzumaki would defeat Killua from Hunter x Hunter any day in a fight. Throughout the Naruto anime, he’s battled against foes with a variety of abilities that at times have been similar to Killua’s powers. Naruto has also faced and defeated several enemies that are just as fast as Killua, so that wouldn’t be a problem either.
Now, to be fair, perhaps it would be a closer battle between a young shinobi version of Naruto and Killua; however, Naruto would still win because he has such insane amounts of chakra that Killua’s Nen simply can’t match. Killua might have the upper-hand in quick-thinking during a battle against a young Naruto, but certainly not against him as Hokage.
9 Goku (Dragon Ball)
Come on, this one is just plain and simple. Nothing truly needs to be said to make the case for Goku from the Dragon Ball series absolutely destroying Killua Zoldyck in a battle. Over the course of the show, Dragon Ball has put Goku up against tougher and tougher opponents in order to validate just how powerful he is.
Killua has some impressive powers when compared to some of the other characters in Hunter x Hunter, but Goku would pretty much swat the kid like a fly. Perhaps Killua will grow stronger yet in the unfinished Hunter x Hunter anime, but we may never know just how strong Goku truly is.
8 Saitama (One Punch Man)
Over the course of Hunter x Hunter, Killua gradually proves that he is a formidable and skilled character by winning many battles against tough opponents. However, pretty much right from the get-go, it becomes clear that Saitama from One Punch Man is incredibly strong. So strong, in fact, that he would send Killua flying with (you guessed it) one punch.
It’s not hate-on-Killua time or anything, but some questions have self-evident answers. Anyone who has seen both these anime will testify that Saitama wins against Killua one hundred percent of the time, regardless of the battle circumstances. One Punch Man has had some truly incredible moments that prove just how strong he really is.
Perhaps more close of a battle than the previous entries, Edward Elric from Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood would still ultimately always win against Killua for a few reasons. For starters, Ed has access to a more versatile array of powers/weapons. With his alchemy, he can create almost anything in a split second, and he’s an incredibly intelligent fighter.
Killua just doesn’t have as many options when it comes to ways to fight back. Another good point for Edward winning this battle is that by the end of the anime, he has proven that he’s undoubtedly the strongest character in the entire show; something that isn’t as certain about Killua in Hunter x Hunter.
6 Meliodas (The Seven Deadly Sins)
Sir Meliodas from The Seven Deadly Sins has proven his immense power and strength several times throughout the anime. He is, without a doubt, the strongest of the sins and likely the most powerful being in the entire anime.
Meliodas has access to immense amounts of energy from his demon mark, energy that allows him to use attacks that Killua simply wouldn’t be able to withstand. As smart and fast as Killua is, he’s outmatched in this battle every time. When it comes to fight experience, Meliodas has a bit more of that as well, considering he’s three thousand years old and Killua is an adolescent.
5 Monkey D. Luffy (One Piece)
Luffy, the main protagonist in One Piece, is yet another example of a character from a different show that could defeat Killua. The Straw-hat has a ton of battle experience fighting against foes with a variety of different skills and abilities.
Monkey D. Luffy’s own skills are extremely impressive as well, and when you add in the powers he receives from the Devil Fruit, he’s simply way too strong for the likes of Killua. The pirate would have the young Hunter walking the plank in no time, though Killua might at least make it a decent fight if he uses his sharp wits.
4 Ichigo Kurosaki (Bleach)
Some anime characters are so legendary that the outcome of a potential fight doesn’t need much explaining to prove why they’d win. This is the case with Ichigo Kurosaki from Bleach when his hypothetical opponent is Killua from Hunter x Hunter.
It’s as simple as this: he’s an extremely well-trained martial artist and swordsman — but on top of that, he becomes a partial Shinigami (Japanese angels of death), which garners him a variety of insanely powerful abilities. Killua might be tough, but he would get demolished because Ichigo’s power source and training far out-match him.
3 Sasuke Uchiha (Naruto)
Sasuke Uchiha is another character from Naruto anime on the list of those who could defeat Killua in battle. It pretty much goes without saying that if Naruto could beat Killua (as mentioned above) than obviously Sasuke could as well.
It would be a somewhat interesting fight to witness, though it likely wouldn’t go on for very long before Sasuke won. Sasuke’s experience, power, and more versatile methods of attacking are what would ultimately make him have the upper hand in this battle. One interesting part of this fight would be to see one of Killua’s electricity-based attacks go against Sasuke’s Chidori, but even in this portion of the battle, Sasuke would likely come out less injured than Killua.
2 All Might (My Hero Academia)
When most anime fans are naming the most powerful characters across all series, All Might from My Hero Academia is always in the conversation. That’s for good reason too, as he essentially has limitless strength and can squash most opponents like a bug. All Might is one of several super powerful characters in My Hero Academia.
Unfortunately for Killua, try as he ‘might’ in this potential battle, he would be the bug getting squashed. While Killua is a commendable fighter with unique and powerful abilities, he isn’t usually mentioned in discussions about the strongest anime characters. All Might was the greatest hero there ever was, he’s ridiculous strong, and Killua just wouldn’t stand a chance.
1 Whis (Dragon Ball Z/Super)
Of course, it’s another character from the Dragon Ball franchise that ends up on this list of characters who can defeat Killua. Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z, and Dragon Ball Super are simply chock-full of immensely powerful characters, and Whis is no exception.
Killua from Hunter x Hunter is incredibly fast, he’s super-smart, and he has impressive powers. Whis, on the other hand, is the most powerful being in the 7th Universe, can make objects out of thin air, has teleportation abilities, and can trap people in his very own “pocket dimension” that is supposedly inescapable. Best of luck to Killua if he ever runs into Whis and initiates a fight, because he’d need all the luck in the universe to even stand a chance against Whis.
